SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Chin State. Rain or thundershowers has been isolated in Mandalay, Lower Sagaing Regions, scattered in Magway, Upper Sagaing Regions and Kayah, Shan States, fairly widespread in Kachin, Rakhine States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Ayeyarwady Region and Mon State. Day temperatures 2°C below May average temperatures in Yangon, Lower Sagaing Regions and Rakhine, (Southern and Eastern) Shan States, 3°C to 4°C below May average temperatures in Mandalay, Bago, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kayah State and 5°C to 6°C below May average temperatures in Naypyitaw, Magway Region and about May average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were 39.5°C in Monywa, 38.5°C in Nyaunglaybin, 38.0°C each in Myinmu & Kawkareik, 36.5°C in Mandalay, 36.2°C in Tada U(Avia-Met), 36.0°C each in Pakokku and Yeu and 35.8°C each in Gangaw and Sagaing on 14-5-2026. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 4.87 inches in Belin, 4.66 inches in Thaton, 3.90 inches in Labutta, 3.34 inches in Chaungsone, 2.91 inches in Mohnyin, 2.72 inches in Kyauktan, 2.41 inches in Paung, 2.10 inches in Hpa-an(Agro-Met), 2.05 inches in Mudon and 1.95 inches in Bogale.
BAY INFERENCE: : According to the observations at 13:30 hrs MST today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over the Southwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining Westcentral Bay of Bengal still persists. Weather is a few cloud over the North Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 16th May 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Mandalay, Magway, Lower Sagaing Regions and Chin State, scattered in Upper Sagaing Region and Rakhine, Eastern Shan States, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Kachin, Kayah, Northern Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Yangon, Bago, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon States. Degree of certainty is 100%.
THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Bago, Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayah, Kayin, Mon, (Southern and Eastern) Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.
STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 6-8 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuations of increase of rain in Taninthayi Region and Kayin, Mon States.
