SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, weather has been generally fair in Naypyitaw, Bago, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kayah, Chin, Mon, (Northern and Southern)Shan States and partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Night temperatures were 3°C to 4°C below January average temperatures in Taninthayi Region and Kayah, Kayin States, 2°C below January average temperatures in Bago Region and Chin, (Northern and Southern)Shan States and about January average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant night temperatures were -1.5°C in Hakha, 2.0°C in Namsan(Southern Shan), 3.3°C in Loilin, 3.4°C in Heho, 4.5°C in Tiddim, 4.6°C in Pinlaung, 5.0°C in Mongyang, 5.2°C in Putao, 5.4°C in Hsipaw and 5.8°C in Mohnyin. 

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at 12:30 hrs MST today, the Deep Depression over the Southwest Bay of Bengal has moved Northwestwards. It is centered at about 835 Nautical miles Southwest of Coco-Island (Myanmar), 155 Nautical miles Southeast of Trincomalee(Sri Lanka) and 385 Nautical miles Southeast of Puducherry(Sri Lanka). It is likely to move Northwestwards and may cross North Sri Lanka coast between Trincomalee and Jaffna during next 24 hours. Weather is a few cloud over the North Andaman Sea, North Bay and Eastcentral Bay and partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 10th January 2026: Weather will be partly cloudy in Taninthayi Region and Kachin, Kayin, Chin, Rakhine, Shan States and generally fair in the remaining Regions and States.

STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 5-7 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts. 

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of slight decrease of night temperatures in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway, Lower Sagaing Regions and Kayah, Shan States.
