SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been widespread in Kayin State, fairly widespread in Yangon Region and Mon State and isolated in Ayeyarwady Region and partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Night temperatures were (2°C) above January average temperatures in Mandalay, Magway, Yangon Regions and Kayah, Kayin States, (3°C) to (4°C) above January average temperatures in Naypyitaw, Bago, Ayeyarwady Regions and (Southern and Eastern)Shan, Mon States and about January average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant night temperatures were (-2°C) in Hakha, (4°C) each in Kyaukmae and Tiddim, (5°C) each in Heho, Pyinoolwin and Mogoke and (6°C) each in Namsam (Southern Shan), Lolin and Falam. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were (0.71) inch in Coco Island, (0.50) inch in Kyaiklat, (0.28) inch in Myawaddy, (0.24) inch in Phyarpon, (0.20) inch each in Hpa-an (Agro Met) and Mawlamyine, (0.12) inch in Kyeikmayaw and (0.08) inch in Labutta and Kungyangon.

BAY INFERENCE: Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 29th January 2024:  Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Yangon Region and Kayin, Mon States, scattered in Bago, Ayeyarwady Regions and isolated in Upper Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Rakhine State. Degree of certainty is (80%). Weather will be partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States..

STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (4-7) feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of isolated rain or thundershowers in Upper Sagaing, Bago, Yangon, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Eastern Shan, Kayin, Mon States.
