SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, light rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Upper Sagaing, Mandalay Regions and Chin State. Weather has been generally fair in Naypyitaw, Magway, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Southern Shan, Rakhine States and partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Night temperatures were (2°C) below January average temperature in Chin State and (2°C) above January average temperatures in Upper Sagaing Region and Kayin State, (3°C) above January average temperature in Lower Sagaing Region and about January average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant night temperatures were (2°C) in Hakha, (3°C) in Heho, (4°C) in Pinlaung and (5°C) each in Putao, Kyaukmae, Namsam(Northern Shan), Loilin, Falam and Pyinoolwin.

BAY INFERENCE: Weather is partly cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and Southeast Bay of Bengal and a few cloud over the North Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 20th January 2024:  Light rain or thundershowers are likely to be isolated in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay Regions and Northern Shan, Chin States. Degree of certainty is (60%). Weather will be generally fair in Naypyitaw, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Southern Shan, Kayah States and partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States.

STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (3-6) feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of slight decrease of night temperatures in Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kachin, Chin States.
