24.8.2026 According to the observations at 17:30 hrs MST today, the low pressure area over the Northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining West Bengal and North Odisha, India now lies over West Bengal and adjoining areas of North Odisha, Jharkhand, India and Northwest Bay of Bengal still persists. It is likely to move Northwestwards and across West Bengal and adjoining areas of North Odisha and Jharkhand, India during next 24 hours. Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal and moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal . Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

According to the observations at (14:00) hrs MST today, the tropical strom “Vamco” which has crossed Southern Vietnam Coasts, has downgraded into the land depression and it is moving Westwards. Under the influence of the land Depression, rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread to widespread in the following Regions and States with likelihood of regionally and isolated heavy falls during the next (5) days commencing afternoon today.
