Bay of Bengal situation

1.    The low pressure formed during the second dekad of September and it may further intensify into a Depression over Bay of Bengal during third dekad of September.  A Low Pressure may form over the Andaman Sea and BOB. Southwest monsoon is likely to withdraw from Central Myanmar areas during (21st – 26th) of September  and from Deltaic areas during 27th of September – 2nd of October, 2026. Monsoon will be weak to moderate over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal. Weather will be partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

Rain conditions and rainy days

2. Rainfall conditions are expected to be above normal in Yangon, Magway, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Chin, Mon, Rakhine States, below normal in Kachin, (Northern & Eatsern) Shan States and about normal in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Bago, Sagaing Regions and Kayah, Kayin, Southern Shan States.

3.   Rainy days will be expected about (7 - 9) days in Yangon, East Bago, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Chin, Mon, Rakhine States and about (4 - 6)days in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, West Bago, Magway, Sagaing Regions and Kachin, Kayah, Shan States.
