BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (17:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Very Severe Cyclonic Storm “HAMOON” over the Northeast Bay and adjoining Northwest Bay of Bengal has moved East-Northeastwards. It is centered at about (255) Nautical miles West-Northwest of Thandwe, (140) Nautical miles West-Northwest of Sittwe, (105) Nautical miles West of Maungdaw (Myanmar), (175) Nautical miles East-Southeast of Digha (India), (80) Nautical miles South-Southeast of Khepupara and (125) Nautical miles Southwest of Chittagong(Bangladesh). Weather is cloudy over the North Bay and partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL NOON OF THE 25th October 2023: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Eastern Shan, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Yangon Regions and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Chin, Rakhine States and isolated heavyfalls in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kachin State. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Occassional squall with rough seas will be experienced off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach (45-50) mph. Sea will be slight to moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (10-13) feet in off and along Rakhine Coast and (4-7) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coast.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Scattered to fairly widespread rain or thundershowers in Sagaing, Mandalay, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin and Mon ststes.
