SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Kachin, Northern Shan States. Rain or thundershowers have been scattered in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Magway, Yangon Regions and Kayah, Kayin, Mon States, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing, Mandalay, Bago, Taninthayi Regions and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were (1.74) inches in Naypyitaw(Zayarthiri), (1.57) inches in Theinzayet, (1.42) inches in Dawei, (1.34) inches in Khayan, (1.19) inches in Thazi, (1.14) inches each in Myitnge and Sinbyugyun and (1.02) inches each in Thayat and Labutta.
BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (12:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Deep Depression over Westcentral Bay of Bengal has moved North-Northeastwards and is centered at about (440) Nautical miles West-Northwest of Hainggyigyun, (440) Nautical miles West-Southwest of Thandwe, (395) Nautical miles West-Southwest of Sittwe (Myanmar), (200) Nautical miles South of Paradip, (280) Nautical miles South-Southwest of Digha (India), (355) Nautical miles South-Southwest of Khepupara (Bangladesh). Weather is partly cloudy over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 24th October 2023: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Kayin, Mon States, scattered in Naypyitaw, Bago, Yangon Regions and Kachin, Northern Shan, Kayah States, fairly widespread in Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Easthern Shan State and widespread in Southern Shan, Chin, Rakhin States. Degree of certainty is (100%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Squall with moderate to rough seas are likely at times in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach (30-35) mph. Sea will be slight to moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (7-9) feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coast and (3-5) feet Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coast.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Fairly widespread to widespread rain or thundershowers in Sagaing, Mandalay Regions and Kachin, Shan, Chin, Rakhine States.
