SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been widespread in Eastern Shan State, scattered in Yangon, Taninthayi Regions and Southern Shan, Kayah, Kayin States, isolated in Bago, Ayeyarwady Regions and Northern Shan, Mon States and weather has been partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were (1.12) inches in Kya-In-Seikkyi, (0.79) inch in Yangon(Northern Dagon), (0.63) inch in Bago, (0.59) inch each in Kengtung and Phyarpon, (0.48) inch in Tharrawady and (0.35) inch in Coco Island.

BAY INFERENCE: Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and a few cloud elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SPECIAL FEACTURES: According to the observations at (12:30) hrs M.S.T today, a Tropical Depression has formed over the South China Sea and it is likely forecast to move slowly Northwestwards.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 18th October 2023: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Taninthayi Region and (Southern and Eastern)Shan State, scattered in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kayah, Kayin, Mon States and isolated in Naypyitaw, Mandalay Region and Northern Shan State. Degree of certainty is (100%). Weather has been partly cloudy the remaining Regions and States.

STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (3-6) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of scattered to fairly widespread rain or thundershowers in Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and (Southern and Eastern)Shan, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin, Mon States.
