SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been scattered in Rakhine State, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing, Magway Regions and (Northern and Eastern)Shan, Chin, Kayah States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Yangon Regions and Mon State and isolated heavyfalls in Bago Region and Kayin State. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were (7.87) inches in Bago, (6.77) inches in Khayan, (6.40) inches in Kyeikdon, (6.10) inches in Chaungsone, (5.16) inches in Theinzayet, (5.04) inches in Belin, (4.87) inches each in Patheingyi and Mudon, (4.02) inches in Mandalay (Aungmyaythasan), (3.98) inches in Tada U(Aviation) and (3.88) inches in Singaing.

BAY INFERENCE: Weather is partly cloudy over the Northeast Bay of Bengal. Monsoon is moderate over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and weak elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SPECIAL FEACTURES:  According to the observations at (12:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Typhoon “Koinu” over the South China Sea has moved Westwards. It is likely to move slowly West-Southwestwards and downgrade into a Severe Tropical Storm “Koinu”.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 09th October 2023: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Rakhine State, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Magway Regions and Kachin, Eastern Shan, Chin, Kayah States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Yangon Region and Mon State and isolated heavyfalls in Mandalay, Bago, Ayeyarwady Regions and Northern Shan, Kayin States. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (5-7) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuations of thundery activities in Deltaic areas.
