SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Magway Region, scattered in Eastern Shan, Rakhine and Kayah States, fairly widespread in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay Regions and Northern Shan, Chin States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing, Yangon Regions and Kayin, Mon States and isolated heavyfalls in Mandalay, Magway, Bago Regions and Kachin State. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were (7.09) inches each in Thaton and Belin, (6.49) inches in Theinzayet, (4.33) inches in Mawlaik, (3.58) inches in Hpa-an(Agro-Met), (3.43) inches in Bago, (3.35) inches in Putao, (3.25) inches in Paing Kyone, (3.19) inches in Hmawbi(Agro-Met) and (3.15) inches in Mingin.

BAY INFERENCE: Weather is partly cloudy over the Northeast Bay of Bengal. Monsoon is moderate over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and weak elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SPECIAL FEACTURES:  According to the observations at (12:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Typhoon “Koniu” over the South China Sea may continue to move slowly West-Southwestwards and downgrade into a Severe Tropical Storm “Koniu”.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 08th October 2023: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Magway Region and Rakhine State, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay Regions and Shan, Chin, Kayah States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Mandalay, Bago Regions and Kayin, Mon States. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (6-8) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuation of thundery activities in Deltaic areas.
