SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Magway, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kayin State, scattered in Bago Region and Kayah State, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing Region and Northern Shan, Rakhine, Mon States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Mandalay Region and isolated heavyfalls in Lower Sagaing Region. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were (5.68) inches in Amarapura, (4.90) inches in Patheingyi(Shwesayan), (4.17) inches in Mandalay,(3.94) inches in Myit Nge, (3.54) inches in Thabeikkyin, (3.38) inches in Pyinoolwin(Zeepingyi), (2.59) inches in Putao, (2.39) inches in Wundwin, (2.23) inches in Ngazun and (2.16) inches in Myeik.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is weak to moderate over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 22nd August, 2023: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread Naypyitaw, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Sagaing, Mandalay Regions and Kachin State. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be moderate in Myanmar Waters. Wave height will be about (6 - 8) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Weak to moderate monsoon.
