BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (18:30) hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over the Northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining West Bengal- North Odisha Coasts(India) still persists. It is likely to move West-Northwestwards and cross North Odisha and North Chhattisgarth during next (30)hrs. Monsoon is moderate over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and moderate to strong elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL NOON OF THE 19th August, 2023: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay Regions and Kayah State, fairly widespread in Magway Region and Northern Shan, Chin, Kayin States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Magway, Ayeyarwady Regions and Rakhine State. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squall with moderate to rough seas are likely at times in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach (30-35) mph. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar Waters. Wave height will be about (7-9) feet in  Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts and (5-7)feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Weak to moderate monsoon.
