SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been fairly widespread in Lower Sagaing, Magway Regions and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Rakhine State and isolated heavyfalls in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kayin State. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were (11.85) inches in Thandwe, (5.24) inches in Kyaukpyu, (4.86) inches in Buthidaung, (4.83) inches in Maungdaw, (4.69) inches in Khayan, (4.61) inches in Taungkok, (4.53) inches in Gwa, (4.41) inches in Ann, (4.37) inches in Kyauktaw, (4.00) inches in Paing Kyone, (3.80) inches in Myebon and (3.56) inches in Minbya.
BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (12:30) hrs M.S.T today, the deep depression over inland of West Bengal, India is likely continue to move West-Northwestwards across Jharkhand and weaken gradually into a Depression during next (6)hrs and into a Low Pressure Area during next(30)hrs. Monsoon is vigorous over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 03rd August, 2023: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Kayah State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Rakhine State and isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon States. Degree of certainty is (100%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough to very rough seas will be experienced in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coast. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (45)m.p.h. Squalls with rough seas will be experienced in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40) m.p.h. Wave height will be about (12-15) feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coast and (9-11) feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Strong monsoon over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal.
