SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Lower Sagaing Region and (Southern and Eastern)Shan, Kayah States. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway Regions, scattered in Northern Shan, Rakhine States, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and Kayin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Mon State and isolated heavyfalls in Bago, Taninthayi Regions. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were (6.18) inches in Launglon, (5.74) inches in Shwekyin, (4.02) inches in Theinzayet, (3.82) inches in Thaton, (3.78) inches in Chaungsone, (3.54) inches in Mudon, (3.15) inches in Belin, (2.72) inches each in Kyeikkhame and Kawthaung, (2.56) inches in Kyeikmayaw, (2.47) inches in Danubyu and (2.43) inches in Dawei.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal and moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.  

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 19th June, 2023: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions and (Southern and Eastern) Shan, Kayah States, scattered in Northern Shan, Rakhine Stetes, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region and isolated heavyfalls in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Rakhine, Mon States. Degree of certainty is (100%).

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in the Bago, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Rakhine, Mon States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.  

STATE OF THE SEA: Squall with rough seas will be are likely at times in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach (35) mph. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (8-10) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts and (5-7) feet off and along Rakhine Coast.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Moderate monsoon.
