SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Mon States, scattered in Yangon Region and Chin State and isolated in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Taninthayi Regions and (Northern and Southern)Shan, Rakhine States and weather has been partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Day temperatures were (3°C) to (4°C) above May average temperatures in Magway, Bago, Yangon, Taninthayi Regions and (Southern and Eastern)Shan, Kayah, Mon States and (2°C) above May average temperatures in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kachin, Northern Shan, Chin, Kayin States and about May average temperatures in Sagaing Region and Rakhine State. The significant day temperatures were (40°C) each in Chauk, Magway, Taungdwingyi and Hpasaung and (39°C) each in Minbu, Aunglan and Gangaw. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were (2.37) inches in Yangon(Mayangon), (2.28) inches in Kyeikkhame, (1.22) inches in Putao, (1.14) inches in Chaungsone, (0.71) inch in Machanbaw and (0.59) inch in Mawlaik.

BAY INFERENCE: Weather is cloudy over the North Bay and a few cloud over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 21st May, 2023: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Chin, Mon States, scattered in Yangon, Taninthayi Regions and Rakhine State and isolated in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is (80%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (5-8) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of thundery activities in Southern Myanmar areas.
