SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been widespread in the whole country with regionally heavyfalls in Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Kayin State and isolated heavyfalls in Ayeyarwady Region and Chin, Rakhine States. Day temperatures were (3°C) above May average temperature in Taninthayi Region, (3°C) to (4°C) below May average temperatures in Bago, Ayeyarwady Regions, (5°C) to (6°C) below May average temperatures in Naypyitaw, (Southern and Eastern) Shan, Kayah States and (7°C) below May average temperatures in Sagaing, Mandalay,  Magway Regions and Kachin, Northern Shan, Chin, Rakhine  States and about May average temperature in  Yangon Region and Kayin, Mon States. The significant day temperatures were (37°C) each in Kawkareik and Myeik and (36°C) in Kawthaung. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were (11.18) inches in Kani, (6.38) inches in Mingin, (6.14) inches in Yeu, (5.70) inches in Sittwe, (5.67) inches in Chauk, (5.08) inches each in Nyaung Oo and Gangaw, (5.05) inches in Tagaung, (4.72) inches in Mogoke, (4.53) inches in Kanbalu, (4.29) inches each in Hakha, Kalewa and (4.17) inches in Mawlaik.

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (12:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Depression crossed China-Myanmar Border continue moved nearly East-Northeastwards and gradually weaken into a Low Pressue Area. Weather is a few cloud to partly cloudy over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 16th May, 2023: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Magway, Taninthayi Regions and Southern Shan, Kayah States and widespread in the Remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Mandalay Region and Kachin, Northern Shan, Kayin, Mon States. Degree of certainty is (100%).

The Condition of Cumulonimbus Cloud: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing over the Magway, Bago Regions and Kayin, Mon States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squall with rough seas will be experienced in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach (40) mph. Squall with moderate to rough seas are likely at times in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach (35) mph. Wave height will be about (8-10) feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts and (7-8) feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of advancement of Southwest Monsoon into the Southern Myanmar areas.
