BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (05:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Severe Cyclonic Storm “MOCHA” which crossing interior near Matupi, Chin State (Myanmar) and moved to North-Northeastwards and weakened into a Cyclonic Storm “MOCHA”. It is continue to move North-Northeastwards near Katha, Upper Sagaing Region. Weather is partly cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and partly cloudy to cloudy over the North Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 15th May, 2023: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Taninthayi Region and Kayin, Kayin, Mon States and widespread in the Remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Kachin, Shan, Chin States and isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady regions and Rakhine State. Degree of certainty is (100%).
The Condition of Cumulonimbus Cloud: Due to the very Severe Cyclonic Storm “MOCHA” over moving North- Northeastwards near Katha, Upper Sagaing Region, the Cumulonimbus cloudsare developing over the Remaining Regions and States except from Southern Myanmar areas. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.
STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coast. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (45) m.p.h. Occasional squall with rough seas will be experienced elsewhere in Myanmar water. Surface wind speed in squall may reach (35-40) mph. Wave height will be about (8-12) feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts, (6-8) feet in in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS:Increase of rain in Chin and Rakhine States.
