BAY INFERENCEAccording to the observations at (05:30) hrs M.S.T today, the Extremely Severe Cyclonic Storm “MOCHA” East Central Bay of Bengalhas moved North-Northeastwards and centered at about (260) Nautical miles West-Northwest of Coco Island, (305) Nautical miles West-Southwest of Hainggyigyun, (350) Nautical miles Southwest of Sittwe, (315) Nautical miles North-Northwest of Port Blair (India) and (385) Nautical miles South-Southwest of Cox’s Bazar (Bangladesh). Weather is partly cloudy over the North Andaman Sea and cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 13th May, 2023: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Taninthayi Region and widespread in the Ramaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Mandalay, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kachin, Chin, Rakhine States and isolated heavyfalls in Bago Region and Shan State. Degree of certainty is (100%).

The Condition of Cumulonimbus Cloud: Due to the Very Severe Cyclonic Storm “MOCHA” over EastcentralBay of Bengal, the Cumulonimbus clouds are developing over the whole country. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squall with rough to very rough seas will be experienced in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach (60-70) mph. Occasional squall with rough seas will be experienced in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach (40-45) mph. Wave height will be about (14-18) feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts and (9-13) feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS:Likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Shan, Chin, Rakhine States.
