SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Magway Region. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Sagaing Region and Northern Shan State, scattered in Mandalay Region and Kachin, Chin, Kayah States, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Eastern Shan, Rakhine States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Kayin, Mon States. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were (4.17) inches in Ye, (3.35) inches in Shan-Ywar-Thit, (2.64) inches in Hlaingbwe, (2.60) inches in Chaungsone, (2.56) inches in Kyeikdon, (2.13) inches in Mawlamyine, (2.09) inches in Launglon, (1.96) inches each in Mudon and Kawthaung, (1.42) inches in Putao, (1.38) inches in Kyeikkhame and (1.31) inches in Thaton.
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and weak to moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
SPECIAL FEACTURES: According to the observations at (12:30)hrs MST today, the land depression near North Laos continue to move West-wards and weaken into the low pressure cell over the boundary of Laos and near the Eastern Myanmar areas. Due to the low pressure cell, rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago Regions and Kachin, Shan, Chin, Kayah, Kayin, Mon States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls and strong wind in some regions during today noon to (28.8.2022).
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 27th August, 2022: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Northern Shan, Kayah States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Shan, Kayin, Mon States. Degree of certainty is (100%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Squall with moderate to rough seas are likely at times in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach (30- 35)mph. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar Waters. Wave height will be about (7-9) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts and (4-7) feet off and along Rakhine Coast.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin State.
