SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Lower Sagaing Region. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Naypyitaw, Ayeyarwady Region and Northern Shan, Rakhine States, scattered in Mandalay, Magway, Bago Regions and Kachin, (Southern and Eastern)Shan, Kayah States, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing, Yangon Regions and Chin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region. Day temperatures were (2°C) above May average temperatures in Eastern Shan, Kayah States and (2°C) below May average temperatures in Mandalay, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin State and about May average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were (39°C) in Chauk and (38°C) each in Myinmu, Nyaung Oo and Bawlakhae. The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were (3.54) inches in Kawthaung, (2.72) inches in Chaungsone, (1.62) inches in Loikaw, (1.60) inches in Paing Kyone, (1.22) inches in Coco Island, (1.18) inches in Yangon(North Dagon), (1.13) inches in Hakha, (1.10) inches in Yangon(Kaba-Aye) and (1.02) inches in Aunglan.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and moderate over the East Central Bay and Northeast Bay of Bengal. Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 31st May, 2022: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Lower Sagaing, scattered in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Ayeyarwady Regions and Northern Shan, Kayah States, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing, Yangon Regions and Kachin, (South and East)Shan, Chin, Rakhine States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squall with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach (30-35) mph. Wave height will be about (7-11) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Rakhine States.
