SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been scattered in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Kachin, Eastern Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States and isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Bago Region and Kachin State. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were (7.68) inches in Thandwe, (5.63) inches in Kyaukpyu, (5.49) inches in Paing Kyone, (5.35) inches in Manaung, (4.92) inches in Taungkok, (4.02) inches in Mawlamyine, (3.82) inches in Kungyangon, (3.62) inches in Belin, (3.46) inches in Shan-Ywar-Thit, (3.43) inches in Putao, (3.38) inches each in Bago, Myaungmya, Modon and Kyeikkhame, (3.31) inches in Central Yangon, (3.27) inches in Haiggyigyun, (3.23) inches in Pathein and (3.19) inches in Gwa.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal. 

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 18th June, 2021: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Eastern Shan State and fairly widespread in Kachin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Ayeyarwady Region and Rakhine State and isolated heavyfalls in Bago, Yangon Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Mon States. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough seas are likely attimes off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35-40)m.p.h. Wave height will be about (8-12) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Moderate to strong monsoon.
