SUMMARY OF OBSERV5ATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather is partly cloudy in Kayah State. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Rakhine State, scattered in Eastern Shan State,fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing, Bago Regions and Kachin, Northern Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States withisolated heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing Region. Day temperatures were (7°C) above May average temperatures in Lower Sagaing Region, (6°C) above May average temperatures in Upper Sagaing Region, (3°C) to (4°C) above May average temperatures in Mandalay, Magway Regions andKachin, Shan, Chin, Rakhine States, (2°C) above May average temperatures in Naypyitaw, Bago, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kayah State and aboutMay average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were (43°C) in Chauk and (42°C) each in Kalewa,Tamu, Mingin, Monywa, Myinmu, Myingyan and Pauk. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were (3.89) inches in Hkamti, (1.50) inches in Chaungsone, (1.30) inches each in Pyinoolwin and Paung, (1.18) inches each in Dawei and Myeik, (1.10) inches in Thaton, (1.06) inches in Kawkareik, (0.98) inch in Hlaingbwe, (0.91) inch in Gwa and (0.86) isinch in Mawlaik.

BAY INFERENCE:According to the observations at (13:30)hrs M.S.T today, the Cyclonic Storm “Yaas” over the Eastcentral Bay of Bengal remains practically stationary. It is centered at about (250)Nautical miles Northweat of Coco Island, about (290) Nautical miles Westwards of Pathein(Myanmar),  about (290) Nautical miles Southeast of Paradip, about (335) Nautical miles It is forecast to move North-Northwestwards and intensify into a Severe Cyclonic Storm during next (12)hrs and Very Severe Cyclonic Storm during next (24)hrs.Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and Southeast Bay of Bengal. Weather is cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 25th May, 2021: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Lower Sagaing, Magway Regions and Kayah State, scattered in Naypyitaw and Mandalay Region, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing, Bago Regions and (Southern and Eastern)Shan State andwidespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Rakhine, Mon States. Degree of certainty is (80%).

STATE OF THE SEA:Occasional squalls with very rough seas will be experienced inDeltaic, off and along Rakhine Coast. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40-45)m.p.h. Squalls with rough seas are likely at times Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35-40)m.p.h. Wave height will be about (13 -17)feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coast and about (9-13)feet in Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS:Continuation of thundery activities in Deltaic areas.
