SUMMARY OF OBSERV5ATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been widespread in Yangon, Taninthayi Regions and Mon State, fairly widespread in Northern Shan State, scattered in Bago, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kachin,(Southern and Eastern)Shan, Kayin States, isolated in Sagaing, Mandalay Regions and Rakhine State with isolated heavyfalls in Eastern ShanState and partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Day temperatures were (7°C) above May average temperature in Magway, Bago Regions and Chin State, (5°C) to (6°C) above May average temperatures in Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Mandalay, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions, (3°C) to (4°C) above May average temperatures in (Southern and Eastern)Shan, Rakhine, Kayah, Mon States and (2°C) above May average temperature in Northern Shan State and about May average temperature in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were (45°C) in Chauk and (44°C) each in Myinmu, Myingyan, Naung Oo, Minbu, Magway and Gangaw. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were (4.69) inches in Minesat, (2.99) inches in kawthaung, (2.00)inches in Shwegwin(Hlaingbwe), (1.65) inches in Dawei, (1.50) inches in Launglon, (1.42) inches in Paung, (1.14) inches in Kyaukpyu, (1.06) inches in Belin and (0.83)inch in Kyeikmayaw.

BAY INFERENCE: Weather is partly cloudy over the North Bay and cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 22nd May, 2021: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Yangon, Ayeyarwady, TaninthayiRegion and Kayin, Mon States, fairlywidespread in Bago Region and Kachin State, scattered in Upper Sagaing Region and Shan, Chin,Rakhine, Kayah States and isolated in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions with isolated heavyfalls in Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions. Degree of certainty is (80%).

STATE OF THE SEA:Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon –Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (30-35) m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (6.9) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon –Taninthayi Coasts and about (4-6) feet off and along Rakhine Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS:Widespread to fairly widespread rain or thundershowers in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States.
