SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been widespread in Taninthayi Region, fairly widespread in Yangon Region and isolated in Bago, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kachin, Northern Shan, Mon States. Weather has been partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Day temperatures were (3°C) above April average temperature in Eastern Shan State, (2°C) above April average temperatures in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions, Kachin, (Northern and Eastern)Shan, ChinStates and (3°C) below April average temperature in Yangon Region and (2°C) below April average temperatures in Ayeyarwady Region and Mon State and about April average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were (43°C) in Chauk and (42°C) each in Nyaung Oo and Hpasaung. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were (1.61) inches in Dawei, (0.39) inch in Kawthaung, (0.08) inch in Launglon and (0.04) inch each in Machanbaw and Lashio.
BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (12:30) hrs M.S.T today, the depression over the North Andaman Sea has moved to North-Northeastwards. It is centered at about (75) Nautical miles Northwest of Myeik (Myanmar), (60) Nautical miles Southwest of Dawei (Myanmar), about (255) Nautical miles East-Southeast of Coco Island (Myanmar), about (245) Nautical miles South-Southeast of Yangon (Myanmar). Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and a few cloud to partly cloudy over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 4thApril, 2021: Weather will be partly cloudy in Sagaing Region and Chin State. Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Taninthayi Region and Mon State, scattered in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions, Shan(South and East), Kayah, Kayin States and isolated in the Remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is (80%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon –Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40)m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (10 -12)feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon –Taninthayi Coasts and about (5-8)feet off and along Rakhine Coast.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of fairly widespread rain or thundershowers in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon States and scatteredrain or thundershowers in Shan, Kayah States.
