SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been widespread in Kachin State, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and Chin State and isolated in Mandalay Region. Weather has been partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Day temperatures were (3°C) above March average temperatures in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway Regions, (2°C) above March average temperatures in (Eastern and Southern)Shan, Kayah States and (2°C) below March average temperature in Taninthayi Region, (3°C) below March average temperature in Kayin State and (5°C) below March average temperature in Kachin State and about March average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were (42°C) each in Tada U (Avia), Chauk, Minbu and Magway and (41°C) each in Myingyun, Lunkyaw, Aunglan, Sinbyugyun and Hpasaung. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were (0.35)inch each Machanbaw and Tiddim, (0.31)inch in Homalin, (0.27)inch each in Putao and Pyinoolwin, (0.24) inch in Tamu and (0.20) inch in Ramthlo.
BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (13:30)hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over Southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining South Andaman Sea still persisits . It is likely to reach over Central Andaman Sea during next (24)hrs and it may futher intensify into a depression during subsequent (24)hrs. Weather is cloudy over the Andaman Sea and Southeast Bay and a few cloud to partly cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 1st April, 2021: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Kachin State,scattered in Upper Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and isolated in Mandalay Region and Chin, Kayin, Mon States. Degree of certainty is (80%). Weather will be partly cloudy to cloudy in the Remaining Regions and States.
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon – Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (30-35)m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (7-9) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon –Taninthayi Coasts and about (5-8) feet off and along Rakhine Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of scattered rain or thundershowers in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon States and isolated rain or thundershowers in Kachin, Kayah States.
