SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers has been widespread in Eastern Shan and Kayah States, scattered in Mandalay Region and Kachin, Southern States and isolated in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Magway, Bago and Yangon Regions. Weather has been partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Night temperatures were (2°C) below February average temperature in Taninthayi Region, (2°C) above February average temperatures in Upper Sagaing Region and Kayin State, (3°C) to (4°C) above February average temperatures in Lower Sagaing, Magway, Bago, Ayeyarwady Regions and (Northern and Southern) Shan, Kayah, Mon States and (5°C) to (6°C) above February average temperatures in Naypyitaw, Mandalay Region and Eastern State and about February average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant night temperatures were (5°C) in Hakha, (8°C) in Loilin and (9°C) each in Heho and Mindat. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were (0.83) inch in Loikaw, (0.75) inch in Taunggyi, (0.24) inch Minesat, (0.19) inch in Namsam, (0.16) inch each in Monyin and Kengtung, (0.12) inch each in Loilin and Bawlakhae and (0.08) inch in Coco Island.
BAY INFERENCE: Weather is a few cloud over the Andaman Sea and partly cloudy to cloudy over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 20th February, 2021: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Eastern Shan state, scattered in Mandalay Region, Kachin, (Northern and Southern) Shan and Kayah States and isolated in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is (80%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Strong easterly winds with moderate to rough seas are likely at times Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in strong easterly winds may reach (30-35)m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (6-9) feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coast and about (4-6) feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coast.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of isolated rain or thundershowers in Kachin and Shan States.
