SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Upper Sagaing, Yangon, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Shan States and generally fair in the remaining Regions and States. Night temperatures were (2°C) above January average temperatures in Sagaing Region and Kachin, Shan, Kayah States and (3°C) above January average temperatures in Naypyitaw, Mon State and about January average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant night temperatures were (4°C) in Heho, (5°C) in Mindat, (6°C) each in Loilin, Hakha and Tongzan and (7°C) each in Namsam, Pinlaung and Pyinoolwin.

BAY INFERENCE: Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Bay and a few cloud to partly cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 19th January, 2021: Light rain are likely to be isolated in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, (Northern and Eastern)Shan States. Degree of certainty is (60%). Weather will be partly cloudy in Yangon, Taninthayi Regions and Southern Shan, Chin States and generally fair in the remaining Regions and States.

STATE OF THE SEA: Strong easterly winds with moderate to rough seas are likely at times Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in strong easterly winds may reach (30-35) m.p.h. Sea will be slight to moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (5-9) feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts and about (4-6) feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coast.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of isolated light rain in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Northern Shan States.
