SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24)hours, rain have been isolated in Upper Sagaing, Mandalay, Bago Regions and Kachin, Southern Shan, Kayah States and scattered in Eastern Shan State. Weather has been generally fair in Magway Region and Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States and partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Night temperatures were (2°C) below January average temperature in Taninthayi Region, (2°C) above January average temperature in Upper Sagaing Region, (3°C) to (4°C) above January average temperatures in Lower Sagaing, Magway, Yangon Regions and Kachin, Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States, (5°C) to (6°C) above January average temperatures in Bago, Ayeyarwady Regions and Northern Shan State, (7°C) to (8°C) above January average temperatures in Naypyitaw, Mandalay Region and Southern Shan State, (10°C) above January average temperature in Kayah State and about January average temperatures in Eastern Shan, Chin States. The significant night temperatures were (0°C) in Hakha, (6°C) in Ramthlo, (7°C) each in Kengtung and Mindat and (8°C) each in Mongyang, Falam and Tiddim. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were (0.43) inch in Kengtung, (0.08) inch in Namsam and (0.04) inch each in Mongyang and Nanyun.
BAY INFERENCE: Weather is cloudy over the South Bay and a few cloud to partly cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 13th January, 2021: Rain will be scattered in Kachin, Shan States and isolated in Upper Sagaing, Mandalay, Taninthayi Regions and Kayah State. Degree of certainty is (80%). Weather will be partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States.
STATE OF THE SEA: Strong easterly winds with moderate to rough seas are likely at times Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in strong easterly winds may reach (35) m.p.h. Sea will be slight to moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (5-9) feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts and about (3-6) feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coast.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of slight decrease of night temperatures in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Bago Regions and Shan, Kayah States.
