SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Upper Sagaing, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, (Southern and Eastern)Shan, Rakhine, Mon States and generally fair in the remaining Regions and States. Night temperatures were (2°C) above January average temperatures in Upper Sagaing Region and Northern Shan State, (3°C) to (4°C) above January average temperatures in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Yangon Regions and Kachin, Chin, Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States, (5°C) to (6°C) above January average temperatures in Naypyitaw, Bago, Ayeyarwady Regions and Eastern Shan, Kayah States, (7°C) above January average temperature in Southern Shan State and about January average temperature in Taninthayi Region. The significant night temperatures were (7°C) in Hakha, (8°C) in Pyinoolwin and (9°C) each in Lashio, Kyaukmae, Heho, Vaar and Mogoke.

BAY INFERENCE: Weather is cloudy over the South Bay and a few cloud over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 10th January, 2021: Rain are likely to be isolated in Taninthayi Region and Kachin, Eastern Shan States. Degree of certainty is (60%). Weather will be generally fair in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Chin, Rakhine States and partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States.

STATE OF THE SEA: Strong easterly winds with moderate to rough seas are likely at times Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in strong easterly winds may reach (30-35) m.p.h. Sea will be slight to moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (5-9) feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts and about (3-6) feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coast.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of isolated light rain in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Shan and Kayah States.
