SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, light rain has been isolated in Taninthayi Region. Weather has been partly cloudy in Upper Sagaing, Yangon Regions and Kachin, Eastern Shan, Rakhine, Mon States and generally fair in the remaining Regions and States. Night temperatures were (2°C) below December average temperature in Kachin State and (2°C) above December average temperatures in Naypyitaw, Ayeyarwady Region and Rakhine, Kayin States, (3°C) to (4°C) above December average temperatures in Bago Region and Mon State and about December average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant night temperatures were (1°C) in Hakha, (2°C) in Putao, (3°C) in Heho, (4°C) each in Machanbaw, Namsam and Mindat and (5°C) in Loilin.

BAY INFERENCE: Weather is generally fair over the North Bay and a few cloud to partly cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 01st January, 2021: Weather will be partly cloudy in Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Eastern Shan, Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States and generally fair in the remaining Regions and States.

STATE OF THE SEA: Strong easterly winds with moderate to rough seas are likely at times Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in strong easterly winds may reach (30-35) m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (5-9) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts and about (4-6) feet off and along Rakhine Coast.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT: Generally fair in the whole country.
