SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Upper Sagaing, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Chin, Mon States and generally fair in the remaining Regions and States. Night temperatures were (3°C) below December average temperature in Eastern Shan, Rakhine States and about December average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant night temperatures were (0°C) in Hakha, (2°C) each in Heho and Mongyang, (3°C) each in Putao, Namsam and Loilin, (4°C) each in Machanbaw, Pinlaung and Mindat and (5°C) each in Kyaukmae and Pyinoolwin.

BAY INFERENCE: Weather is generally fair over the North Bay and a few cloud to partly cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 31st December, 2020: Weather will be partly cloudy in Upper Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Chin States and generally fair in the remaining Regions and States.

STATE OF THE SEA: Strong easterly winds with moderate to rough seas are likely at times Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in strong easterly winds may reach (30-35)m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (5-9) feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts and about (4-6) feet Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coast.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT: Decrease of night temperatures in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kayah, Kayin, Mon States.
