SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, Light rain has been isolated in Eastern Shan State. Weather has been generally fair in Naypyitaw, Magway Region and Kachin, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin States and partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Night temperatures were (-2°C) below December average temperatures in Kachin and Chin States, (2°C) above December average temperatures in Naypyitaw, Bago Region and Eastern Shan, Kayah, Mon States, (3°C) to (4°C) above December average temperatures in Ayeyarwady Region and Southern Shan State and about December average temperature in the remaining Regions and States. The significant night temperatures were (-1°C) in Hakha, (3°C) in Ramthlo, (4°C) each in Putao and Mindat and (6°C) each in Machanbaw and Heho.

BAY INFERENCE: Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the South Bay and a few cloud over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 22nd December, 2020:  Weather will be generally fair in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing and Magway Regions and partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States.

STATE OF THE SEA: Strong easterly winds with moderate to rough seas are likely at times Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in strong easterly winds may reach (30-35)m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (5-8) feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts and about (4-7) feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coast.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT: Slight decrease of night temperatures in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayah, Kayin, Mon States.

FORECAST FOR NAYPYITAW AND NEIGHBOURING AREA FOR 22nd December, 2020:          Generally fair weather.
