SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Upper Sagaing, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, (Southern and Eastern)Shan, Kayah, Mon States and generally fair in the remaining Regions and States. Night temperatures were (-3°C) below December average temperature in Chin State and (-2°C) below December average temperature in Northern Shan State, (2°C) above December average temperatures in Naypyitaw and Kayin State, (3°C) above December average temperatures in Bago, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kayah, Mon States and about December average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant night temperatures were (-01°C) in Hakha, (3°C) in Ramthlo, (4°C) in Mindat, (5°C) each in Kyaukmae, Heho and Mogoke and (6°C) each in Putao, Tiddim, Tongzan and Pyinoolwin.

BAY INFERENCE: Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and a few cloud elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 21st December, 2020:  Light rain are likely to be isolated in Taninthayi Region and Eastern Shan State. Degree of certainty is (60%). Weather will be generally fair in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Rakhine State and partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States.

STATE OF THE SEA: Strong easterly winds with moderate to rough seas are likely at times Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in strong easterly winds may reach (30-35)m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (5-8) feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts and about (4-7) feet Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coast.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT: Likelihood of slight decrease of night temperatures in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayah, Kayin, Mon States.
