SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing Region, Northern Shan and Chin States, scattered in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin and Kayin States, fairly widespread in Mandalay Region, (Southern and Eastern)Shan and Kayah State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Yangon Region and isolated heavy falls in Ayeyarwady Region. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were (3.58) inches in Central Yangon, (3.20) inches in Nyaungtone, (3.15) inches in Yangon(Kaba-Aye), (2.36) inches in Phyarpon, (2.32) inches in Theinzayet, (2.08) inches each in Mindat and Kungyangon, (1.89) inches in Tharrawady, (1.61) inches in Letpadan, (1.54) inches in Phyu, (1.40) inches in Kya-In-Seikkyi, (1.38) inches in Magway, (1.26) inches in Thayat and (1.22) inches in Kawthaung.

BAY INFERENCE:  Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the North Bay and East central Bay of Bengal. Monsoon is moderate over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 18th October, 2020: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Lower Sagaing Region and Northern Shan State, scattered in Naypyitaw,  Upper Sagaing and Mandalay Regions, Kachin, (Southern and Eastern) Shan and Chin States, fairly widespread in Magwady Region and Kayah State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavy falls in Taninthayi Region, Kayin and Mon States. Degree of certainty is (80%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (30-35)m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (6-9) feet Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi  Coasts and about (5-7)feet off and along Rakhine Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuation of thundery activities in Southern Myanmar areas.
