BAY INFERENCE:  Weather is partly cloudy over the North Bay and East central Bay of Bengal. Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL NOON OF THE 17th October, 2020: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Upper Sagaing Region, Kachin, Northern Shan and Chin States, scattered in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions and Rakhine State, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Shan (South and East) State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavy falls in Magway and Taninthayi Regions. Degree of certainty is (80%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (30-35)m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (6-9) feet Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi  Coasts and about (5-8)feet Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuation of thundery activities in Southern Myanmar areas.

FORECAST FOR NAYPYITAW AND NEIGHBOURING AREA FOR 17th October, 2020 Isolated rain or thundershowers. Degree of certainty is (100%).

FORECAST FOR YANGON AND NEIGHBOURING AREA FOR 17th October, 2020: One or two rain or thundershowers. Degree of certainty is (80%).

FORECAST FOR MANDALAY AND NEIGHBOURING AREA FOR 17th October, 2020:  Likelihood of isolated rain or thundershowers. Degree of certainty is (60%).

WEATHER OUTLOOK FOR WEEKEND: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Naypyitaw, fairly widespread in Yangon Region and isolated in Mandalay Region.
