BAY INFERENCE: Weather is partly cloudy over the North Bay and East central Bay of Bengal. Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
SPECIAL FEATURES: According to the observations at (18:30) hrs MST today, the tropical depression over the middle South China Sea is crossing the Southern coast of Vietnam near Nha Trang. It will continuously move to westward and then it will cross Cambodia and reach the Gulf of Thailand at (8.10.2020) and thereafter are likely cross Thailand and Southern Myanmar areas as a low pressure area at nighttime. It is expected to reach the Andaman Sea at (9.10.2020).
FORECAST VALID UNTIL NOON OF THE 8th October, 2020: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, fairly widespread in Chin and Rakhine States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region and Kayin, Mon States. Degree of certainty is (80%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon- Taninthayi coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35) m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (6-9) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon- Taninthayi coasts and about (4-6) feet in off and along Rakhine Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuation of thundery activities in the Southern Myanmar areas.
