SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Eastern Shan and Rakhine States. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Lower Sagaing and Magway Regions, Northern Shan State, scattered in Upper Sagaing, Bago and Ayeyarady Regions, Chin and Kayah States, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw and Mandalay Region, Kachin and Southern Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavy falls in Kayin State. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were (3.55) inches in Payathonsu, (2.36) inches in Phyarpon, (2.05) inches in Launglon, (1.58) inches in Kawthaung, (1.50) inches in Hpa-an, (1.46) inches in Mawlamyine, (1.42) inches in Myeik, (1.37) inches in Nyaung Oo and (1.34) inches each in Pauk and Yangon (Kaba-Aye).
BAY INFERENCE: Weather is partly cloudy over the North Bay. Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and weak to moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 30th September, 2020: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Lower Sagaing Region and Shan (North and East) State, scattered in Upper Saging and Magway Regions, Kachin, Southern Shan, Rakhine and Kayah States, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Mandalay and Bago Regions, Chin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavy falls in Mandalay, Magway and Ayeyarwady Regions, Kayin and Mon States. Degree of certainty is (80%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (30-35)m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (6-9) feet Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts and (5-8) feet off and along Rakhine Coasts .
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Moderate to strong monsoon over the Andaman Sea and Southeast Bay of Bengal.
