SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, Southwest monsoon has been withdrawn from the North Bay of Bengal and Central Myanmar areas. Weather has been partly cloudy in Lower Sagaing Region. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Naypyitaw, Mandalay and Magway Regions, Northern Shan and Kayah States, scattered in Upper Sagaing, Bago and Yangon Regions, Kayin and Mon States, fairly widespread in Ayeyarady Region, Chin and Rakhine States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavy falls in Taninthayi Region. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were (3.39) inches in Kawthaung, (2.76) inches in Mogaung, (2.28) inches in Myeik, (2.20) inches in Nyaung Shwe, (1.65) inches in Putao, (1.30) inches in Heho, (1.06) inches in Mawlamyine and (1.04) inches in Kya-In-Seikkyi.
BAY INFERENCE: Weather is a few cloud over the North Bay. Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and Southeast Bay and weak elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 29th September, 2020: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions, Northern Shan State, scattered in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing Region, Eastern Shan and Kayah States, fairly widespread in Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Southern Shan, Chin and Rakhine States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated in Taninthayi Region, Kayin and Mon States. Degree of certainty is (80%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (30-35)m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (6-9) feet Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts and (5-8) feet Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts .
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain in Taninthayi Region, Kayin and Mon States.
