SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been scattered in Lower Sagaing and Taninthayi Regions, Southern Shan, Kayin and Mon States, fairly widespread in Magway Region and (Northern and Eastern) Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing  and Magway Regions and isolated heavy falls in Ayeyarwady Region. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were (7.52) inches in Tamu, (4.17) inches in Hainggyigyun, (3.07) inches in Nanyun (Agro), (2.93) inches in Nyauntone, (2.87) inches in Thayat, (2.83) inches each in Myitkyina, Yangon(Kaba-Aye) and Thandaunggyi, (2.68) inches in Gwa, (2.56) inches in Central Yangon, (2.16) inches in Sittwe, (2.13) inches in Maubin, (2.05) inches in Pandaung (Agro), (1.93) inches each in Maungdaw and Bawlakhae and (1.89) inches each in Naypyitaw(Zayarthiri) and Aunglan.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is weak over the Andaman Sea and Southeast Bay and moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 24th September, 2020: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Lower Sagaing Region, fairly widespread in Mandalay, Magway and Taninthayi Regions, Shan, Kayin and Mon States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavy falls in Upper Sagaing Region, Kachin and Rakhine States. Degree of certainty is (80%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (30-35)m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar Waters. Wave height will be about (7– 10) feet Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts and about (5-8) feet Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuation of thundrey activities in Central Myanmar areas.
