SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Kachin and Northern Shan States. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Lower Sagaing Region, scattered in Upper Sagaing and Mandalay Regions, fairly widespread in (Sourthern and Eastern)Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Taninthayi Region and Mon State and isolated heavy falls in Magway and Ayeyarwady Regions. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were (6.58) inches in Myeik, (6.18) inches in Launglon, (5.47) inches in Dawei, (4.88) inches in Theinzayet, (4.36) inches in Ye, (3.94) inches in Hainggyigyun, (3.30) inches in Kawthaung, (2.68) inches in Madauk, (2.56) inches in Khayan, (2.52) inches in Aunglan, (2.44) inches in Labutta, (2.40) inches in Nyaunglaybin, (2.32) inches in Chaungsone and (2.28) inches in Tharrawady.
BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (10:30)hrs M.S.T today, a low pressure area has formed over the Northeast Bay of Bengal. Monsoon is strong to vigorous over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 21th September, 2020: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Lower Sagaing Region and Northern Shan State, scattered in Upper Sagaing and Mandalay Regions, Kachin and Eastern Shan States, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw and Magway Region, Southern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavy falls in Mon State and isolated heavy falls in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Rakhine and Kayin States. Degree of certainty is (100%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Occassional squalls with rough to very rough seas will be experienced off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40-45)m.p.h. Wave height will be about (8 – 14) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Upper Sagaing Region, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States.
