BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and weak elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
SPECIAL FEATURES: According to the observations at (17:30) hrs MST today, the tropical storm“NOUL” has crossed over Laos and now lies over Thailand. It is moving
West ward and forecast continues to move West-Northwest wards as a land depression and then reach to Kayah, Kayin and Mon States(Myanmar) on (19.9.2020).
FORECAST VALID UNTIL AFTERNOON OF THE 19th September, 2020: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Sagaing Region, Kachin, Northern Shan and Chin States, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Mandalay and Magway Regions, Southern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavy falls in Taninthayi Region, Kayin and Mon States and isolated heavy falls in Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions and Kayah State. Degree of certainty is (100%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40)m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar Waters. Wave height will be about (8 – 12) feet Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts and about (5 - 8) feet off and along Rakhine Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Southern Shan, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States.
