SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Mandalay, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, scattered in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing and Magway Regions, Southern Shan and Mon States, fairly widespread in Lower Sagaing and Bago Regions, Kayah and Kayin States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Mandalay Region and isolated heavy falls in Magway Region. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were (6.62) inches in Mogoke, (2.91) inches in Bhamo, (2.80) inches in Thabeikyin, (2.40) inches in Kyeikdon, (2.09) inches in Thandaunggyi, (1.85) inches each in Namsam and Launglon, (1.73) inches each in Magway and Kawthaung and (1.65) inches each in Katha, Thandwe and Myauk U.
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and weak elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 17th September, 2020: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, fairly widespread in Sagaing and Bago Regions, Southern Shan, Chin, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavy falls in Kachin State. Degree of certainty is (100%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (4-8) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of withdrawal of Southwest monsoon from Northern Myanmar areas.
