SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Lower Sagaing Region. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Mandalay Region, Eastern Shan and Mon States, scattered in Naypyitaw, Magway, Bago and Ayeyarwady Regions, Southern Shan and Kayin States, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing and Yangon Regions, Chin, Rakhine and Kayah States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavy falls in Upper Sagaing and Taninthayi Regions. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were (5.83) inches in Hkamti, (5.43) inches in Kawthaung, (2.72) inches in Machanbaw, (2.52) inches in Tiddim, (2.24) inches in Ramthlo, (2.17) inches in Matupi, (1.69) inches in Yangon(North Dagon), (1.65) inches in Kalay, (1.42) inches in Putao, (1.41) inches in Saw and (1.02) inches each in Monyin, Magway and Myeik.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is weak to moderate over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and weak elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 12th September, 2020: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Upper Sagaing, Yangon and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin and Northern Shan States, fairly widespread in Bago and Ayeyarwady Regions, Shan (South and East), Chin, Rakhine, Kayah and Kayin States and  scattered in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavy falls in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin State. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (4-8) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Weak Monsoon.

FORECAST FOR NAYPYITAW AND NEIGHBOURING AREA FOR 12th September, 2020: Isolated rain or thundershowers. Degree of certainty is (100%).
