SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Northern Shan State, scattered in Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin and Eastern Shan States, fairly widespread in Ayeyarwady Region, Chin and Kayah States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavy falls in Kachin State. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were (3.23) inches in Putao, (2.75) inches in Ann, (2.39) inches in Sittwe, (2.32) inches in Myauk U, (2.05) inches in Machanbaw, (1.89) inches in Kyaukpyu, (1.85) inches in Belin, (1.57) inches in Nyaunglaybin, (1.50) inches each in Taungkok and Kungyangon, (1.46) inches in Manaung, (1.42) inches in Kamamaung, (1.30) inches in Shan-Ywar-Thit and (1.26) inches in Taungoo(Avia-Met).

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is weak over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 28th August, 2020: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Shan (North and East) State, scattered in Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway and Taninthayi Regions, fairly widespread in Ayeyarwady Region, Kachin, Southern Shan, Chin and Kayah States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be slight to moderate in Myanmar Waters. Wave height will be about (4-7) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Weak monsoon.
