BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (06:30)hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over North Bay of Bengal still persists. Monsoon is weak over the Andaman Sea and Southeast Bay and strong elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL AFTERNOON OF THE 26th August, 2020: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Lower Sagaing and Taninthayi Regions, fairly widespread in Mandalay, Magway Regions and Kayin, Mon States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Rakhine State and isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw . Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced off and along Rakhine Coast. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40)m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar Waters. Wave height will be about (8 – 12) feet off and along Rakhine Coast and about (5 - 8) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin State.

FORECAST FOR MANDALAY AND NEIGHBOURING AREA FOR 26th August, 2020:   Isolated  rain or thundershowers. Degree of certainty is (80%).
