SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing and Magway Regions and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Mandalay Region and Kayin State and isolated heavy falls in Bago Region, Kachin, Northern Shan and Mon States. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were (4.90) inches in Kya-In-Seikkyi, (4.45) inches each in Manchanbaw and Shwekyin, (4.14) inches in Mogoke, (3.43) inches in Kamamaung, (3.23) inches in Moemate, (3.11) inches in Kyeikmayaw, (3.03) inches in Shan-Ywar-Thit, (2.88) inches in Thandwe, (2.72) inches in Ann, (2.64) inches in Taungkok, (2.48) inches in Mudon, (2.44) inches in Thandaunggyi, (2.33) inches in Kataingti, (2.32) inches in Madauk and (2.28) inches in Manaung.

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (13:30)hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over North Bay of Bengal still persists. Monsoon is weak over the Andaman Sea and Southeast Bay and vigorous elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 25th August, 2020: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Lower Sagaing, Magway and Taninthayi Regions and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavy falls in Rakhine State and isolated heavy falls in Upper Sagaing and Mandalay Regions, Kachin, Northern Shan, Kayin and Mon States. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced off and along Rakhine Coast. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40)m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar Waters. Wave height will be about (8 – 12) feet off and along Rakhine Coast and about (5 - 8) feet Deltaic,Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Weak monsoon over the Andaman Sea and Southeast Bay of Bangal.
