SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Lower Sagaing and Magway Regions, scattered in Upper Sagaing, Mandalay Regions and Kachin, Chin States, fairly widespread in Bago, Ayeyarwady Regions and Northern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Bago Region and Kayin State and isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Yangon Regions and Kachin, Mon States. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were (7.25) inches in Paing Kyone, (4.10) inches in Ye, (3.85) inches in Kawkareik, (3.78) inches in Bago, (3.38) inches in Taunggu, (3.23) inches in Machanbaw, (3.03) inches in Khayan, (2.63) inches in Zaung Tu, (2.55) inches in Thazi(Agro), (2.34) inches in Kya-In-Seikkyi, (2.28) inches in Hainggyigyun, (2.20) inches each in Mawlamyine and Kyeikmayaw, (2.12) inches in Kyeikdon, (1.89) inches each in Sittwe and Kyeikkhame and (1.77) inches in Tatkon.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and weak elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 23rd August, 2020: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Kachin, Chin States, fairly widespread in Northern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kayin, Mon States. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA:  Sea will be moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (5 –8) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Rakhine State.
