SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Magway Region, scattered in Lower Sagaing and Mandalay Regions, fairly widespread in Southern Shan and Kayin States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavy falls in Rakhine State and isolated heavy falls in Bago Region. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were (5.28) inches in Maungdaw, (4.49) inches in Myauk U, (4.21) inches in Kyaukpyu, (4.02) inches in Sittwe, (3.42) inches in Ann, (3.31) inches in Phyu, (2.99) inches in Kyeikkhame, (2.64) inches in Thandwe, (2.52) inches in Hkamti, (2.36) inches in Paung, (2.32) inches in Launglon, (1.97) inches in Okkan, (1.82) inches in Kyeikdon, (1.81) inches in Belin and (1.77) inches in Kyauktaw.
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 13th August, 2020: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Magway Region, scattered in Lower Sagaing and Mandalay Regions, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw and Southern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavy falls in Upper Sagaing, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States. Degree of certainty is (100%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (30-35)m.p.h. Wave height will be about (6 – 9) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States.
