SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Lower Sagaing Region, scattered in Mandalay and Magway Regions, Kachin State, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing and Taninthayi Regions, Eastern Shan and Kayah States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Yangon Region and Rakhine State. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were (4.80) inches in Gwa, (3.90) inches in Kyaukpyu, (3.19) inches in Maungdaw, (3.15) inches in Okkan, (3.11) inches each in Sittwe and Central Yangon, (2.72) inches in Ramthlo, (2.68) inches in Taungkok, (2.64) inches in Ann, (2.44) inches in Hlaingbwe, (2.09) inches in Maubin, (2.05) inches in Kawkareik and (2.01) inches in Bhamo.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is weak to moderate over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 08th August, 2020: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Lower Sagaing Region, scattered in Mandalay and Magway Regions, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region, Kachin and Kayah States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing Region, Kachin, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (30-35)m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar Waters. Wave height will be about (8 – 10) feet Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts and about (5-8) feet Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal.
